Love is the greatest of all commandments. The entirety of God’s commands to us are summed up in the two greatest commandments to (a) love God with all of our being; and (b) love our neighbor as our self. Without love we are nothing and therefore it is of primary importance that we make loving God and others the highest aim of our lives.
About the Bible:
The Bible is the infallible, inspired Word of God given by God to us so that we may know Him.
God is eternally existent as one God in three persons – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit – who are distinct from each other and yet still equally eternal, equally God and not three gods but the One True God who created the world for His glory and is the Sovereign Ruler over all Creation. (Gen 1:26; Deut 6:4; Ps 110:1; Isa 6:8; Isa 61:1; Matt 3:16-17; Matt 26:39; John 1:1-2; John 10:30-33; John 14:15-23; John 17:5; Rom 8:9; Rom 15:16-30; 1 Cor 3:16; 2 Cor 1:21-22; Eph 2:18; Eph 4:4-6; 1 John 2:1)
Men and women have been created by God in His image. Because humans bear the image of God, their lives carry eternal value to Him. Although the image of God within us has been marred by an attitude of rebellion called sin, our value to God has not. Unfortunately, sin separates us from God and prevents us from experiencing what it means to be loved by God.
People have been created to live forever. We will either live eternally separated from God because of sin; or we will live eternally joined to God because of the forgiveness received through Jesus Christ. Those who remain eternally separated from God will live forever in a place called Hell. Those who become eternally joined to God through faith in Jesus Christ will live forever in a place called Heaven.
Jesus is the Son of God, the Second Person of the Trinity, the Savior of the world and salvation is found in no other. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross, was buried and rose from the grave on the third day. He now sits at the right hand of the Father who has made Him Lord of all creation and subjected all things to His authority. One day all of God’s plans for creation will be fulfilled underneath His Lordship and then He will hand all that the Father has given Him back over to the Father.
Salvation is by grace through faith alone. It is obtained only by believing in Jesus, the Son of God, and is given by God as a free gift. Since it is given by God as a gift it is also secured by God and cannot be “lost” unless God decides to ungive it. Thankfully for us, God has promised not to do such a thing, and therefore those who have been saved by Him can rest assured that their eternity in heaven is secure.
About the Resurrection of Believers:
Those who are in Christ will be resurrected to receive immortal bodies at His second coming when He returns to establish God’s reign on earth.
About the Second Coming:
The Second Coming is a literal, bodily return of Jesus Christ to earth in order to establish a real and literal Kingdom of God on earth to which all the nations will submit and peace will reign.
