Old Testament

*NOTE: The doctrine of election in the Old Testament is seen mainly in God’s choice of Israel. Out of all the people on Earth, God sovereignly chose Abram to become the father of His chosen nation. Out of all the nations on Earth, God sovereignly chose Israel to be His prized possession. And God makes it clear that His choice of Israel was based solely on His divine right to have mercy on whom He wants and not because of any merit of their own.

“How blessed is the one whom You choose and bring near to You To dwell in Your courts. We will be satisfied with the goodness of Your house, Your holy temple.”
